Ball Stock

High carbon custom engineered ballstock grades, designed with toughness and wear attributes in mind, are central in AltaSteel’s grinding media lineup.  Offered in sizes ranging from 1.0” to 4.0”, AltaSteel produces ballstock as round bar which is manufactured by our customers (rolled-formed or upset forged and heat treated) into grinding balls or SAG balls.   AltaSteel ballstock is designed to meet a vast array of quality attributes, including: thru-hardening steel capability, fine grained, micro-cleanliness compliant to industry standards and industry- low hydrogen levels.  With in-house laboratory capabilities that include microstructural evaluation, grain size measurement, hardness testing and access to hydrogen testing equipment AltaSteel has established itself as a true center for grinding media excellence.
