How do I apply for a job at AltaSteel?

Our HR team and hiring managers rely on our online application system to review applications. We do not accept paper or in-person applications. Please apply using our online system to ensure that your resume and cover letter is viewed. Our current opportunities can be found here.

How do I improve my chances at getting an interview?

To ensure you have the best chance at being interviewed, it's important that your cover letter and resume are aligned with the position for which you are applying, and provides evidence of the skills, attributes and experience required for that specific role. Please ensure to keep your resume simple, concise, easy to read and focused on selling your attributes and skills.

I have submitted my application. What happens next?

Your application will be reviewed by a member of the HR team and you will be contacted if you are selected for the interview stage. Certain opportunities within AltaSteel might require you to complete an online pre-screening assessment prior to an interview and if this is the case you will also be contacted.

How should I prepare for an interview?

Once you have an interview scheduled, please come prepared so we can get the most out of our scheduled time together.  

• Research, identify and understand our company values.
• Understand the job description and the attributes and skills necessary to perform the position successfully.
• Be able to draw on past experiences from work or school.
• Bring a copy of your resume and any other documentation that is relevant to your application, training and experience.

If I am successful in the interview, what else is required?

If you are chosen to move forward in the recruitment process you may be required to successfully complete any or all of the following: an online assessment, an additional interview, alcohol and drug test and your references will be called. During the process you will also be invited in for a tour of our facility. Please note that you may not be moved on in the recruitment process following any one of the steps above.

I was not successful in the application process. Will I receive feedback?

Following an interview you will be notified if you will progress in the process. You will not be provided feedback following your application submission unless you are selected for an interview.

I was not successful in the application process. Can I re-apply?

If you were not successful in the application process you can re-apply after 6 months of your original submission date and you will be reconsidered.

How often should we contact you and how?

Please take note that if you have applied for a position with AltaSteel, we will contact you if you have been selected.
