Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Shift Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our plant. We are seeking a passionate leader who can coordinate people and resources, clearly communicate goals, and ensure the safety of our people and plant.

Responsibilities

Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the manufacturing facility to meet and exceed daily production targets.
Leadership Excellence: Lead and mentor a team of approx. 20 unionized hourly employees, fostering an environment that encourages growth, engagement, and high performance.
Safety First: Ensure the safety of our people and plant, reporting, documenting, and addressing safety incidents promptly in accordance with company policies.
Process Optimization: Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure operational control and maintain product quality.
Collaborative Coordination: Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to minimize downtime for repairs and maintenance.
Training and Development: Execute training requirements and provide ongoing coaching to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
Supervisory Coverage: Provide supervisory coverage for other areas during backshifts and weekends.

Qualifications & Skills

A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience supervising in a unionized environment an asset.
High degree of emotional intelligence.
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
The ability to utilize tools and resources to confidently and independently make difficult decisions.
Able to organize, set priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Positive, team-based attitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, Outlook.

Job Details

12 Hour Rotational Shift work
In town work
Overtime at 1.5X, full-time permanent opportunity with benefits and pension
Fast paced work environment
Zero Tolerance Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test required.
