Production Planner
AltaSteel is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner with experience in QMOS to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will not only manage production planning but also assist the sales department with various administrative tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations between production and sales, optimizing workflow, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Reports to the Director, Sales & Procurement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring optimal resource utilization and minimal downtime.
- Monitor and adjust production plans based on changing priorities, equipment availability, and staffing levels.
- Collaborate closely with production, procurement, and sales teams to align production goals with customer demand.
- Utilize QMOS software to track production processes, generate reports, and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist the sales department with administrative tasks, such as preparing order documentation, updating customer information, and coordinating with production for delivery timelines.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and suggest process improvements.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Sales & Procurement to ensure alignment between production capabilities and sales forecasts.
- Maintain accurate records of production schedules, order status, and materials inventory.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Production Planner in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in QMOS software is required.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and handle various priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of administrative tasks and experience supporting sales departments is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- High attention to detail is required.
Job Details
- Full-time permanent opportunity
- Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Full time in-office/operations, in Edmonton Alberta (no remote or hybrid)
- Pre-employment alcohol and drug test required with zero tolerance policy
- Background check required
