Stores Supervisor
AltaSteel is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as the Supervisor, Stores. In this role you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our stores department, ensuring timely and accurate availability of materials, tools, and equipment for our production teams. This role demands strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Stores Warehouse Personnel.
- Oversee the receipt, storage and distribution of materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory and inventory records.
- Collaborate with procurement, inventory, maintenance and operation teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize inventory control and reduce waste.
- Assist in the continuation of and monitoring of the KPIs and prepare regular reports on inventory performance and team productivity.
- Accountable for resolutions to any discrepancies between paperwork and inventory received.
- Oversee the receiving process and ensure key measures & targets required to achieve desired business outcomes are completed as expected.
- Complete required tasks within Inventory Control as required.
- Problem solve and work with direct reports for any potential inventory shortages or disruptions and communicate as required.
- Review and Coordinate requirements for revised inventory or new inventory; min/max levels, locations, special requirements ensuring the business is fully equipped to manage stock.
- Promote and ensure strict adherence to all, safety standards, operating procedures, housekeeping and warehouse standards.
- Ensure health, safety and environment requirements are adhered to by employees.
- Conduct inventory investigations as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within an industrial warehouse environment
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs and how to utilize them effectively
- Strong understanding of inventory management and supply chain principles.
- Logical and highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Able to focus, prioritize and multi-task with efficiency
- Ability to work within a with fast-paced work environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Sound judgment and problem solving abilities
- Able to organize, set priorities and work to tight deadlines
